Who We Are

We HELP, we give HOPE, we bring families HOME!

Family Promise of Orange County aims to end family homelessness. We are an interfaith organization that partners with and mobilizes volunteers from the faith-based community to end homelessness for Orange County’s families and their children. Together, we have seen success that lasts. Families in our program receive a full complement of resources, support and training as they work towards their own stability and self-reliance.

Family Promise of Orange County is a unique nonprofit organization that launched on February 5, 2012 and partners with over 20 local congregations to tackle family homelessness. Our mission is to help families who are experiencing homelessness achieve housing stability through short-term emergency and transitional housing, financial literacy and employment counseling, graduate support, meals and individualized case management. Family Promise’s programs are a proven path to help families find home.

Families in our programs must have at least one child under 18, but we do accept their older children as well. These youngsters have the misfortune of being homeless in one of the nation’s wealthiest communities. According to Orange County’s 2019 point-in-time count, there are over 460 families currently experiencing homelessness in our county. Family Promise recognizes that homelessness is not a simple problem; it often requires a multifaceted and community-based response. By integrating smart programming, case management, and the hands-on work of thousands of volunteers, we seek not only to shelter families, but are committed to providing them with critical resources to prevent future homelessness.
