Family Promise allows communities to develop comprehensive, holistic solutions for families facing homelessness. Families come to us in crisis; our approach of coordinated compassion helps them rebuild their lives with new skills and ongoing support.

Nationally, over the past 30+ years, we have provided shelter, meals, case management, homelessness prevention and stabilization services to nearly 1 million family members.

On average, 90% of families in our shelter program secure housing because of our intensive case management and community support.
ENGAGING VOLUNTEERS
We mobilize more than 1,200 dedicated volunteers annually who make a tremendous difference in families’ lives—and in their communities.
WORKING SMART
Our program is 100% privately funded. 89 cents of every dollar goes directly to our housing programs. We do our best to keep up with the ever-growing need and keep our operating costs low by utilizing talented volunteers and interns from local colleges—the backbone and bulk of our current workforce.
LOCAL IMPACT
In 2019, Family Promise of Orange County volunteers served 12,306 meals and our amazing partner congregations provided 4,102 nights of emergency shelter. We served a total of 48 families in need, a total of 201 individuals, a 13% increase in the people served from the year before. Our dedicated team of case management volunteers and interns also responded to 2,790 calls from people needing help in the community.
